When Searching For Assisted Living Near Portland
Finding care for a loved one can mean long hours and exhaustive searches, and there are numerous factors to consider including Cost, location and level of care. What if a pet is involved, or if there are medical needs like feeding tubes, special diets or a Hoyer lift, things rapidly become more complex.
When you are in a crisis mode it’s easy to fall into the trap of being in reactive mode. Care Solutions goal is to quickly get you back to a place of response vs. reaction. The difference between these two is very important because the reactive mode is one of helplessness while the response mode is one of empowerment and choice.
We accomplish this by making our services available to you quickly, bringing them to wherever is most convenient for you, whether that’s in your home, at a care facility or at the hospital. From the moment we sit down together, your resources for finding care and access to information will be expanded and the anxiety you feel about the decisions you’re making will be reduced.
How Our Assisted Living Service Works
We make assessments and placements using a system that considers five dimensions of living: Care, cost, location, social preferences and spiritual needs.
Typically we make an appointment to meet with you in person to gather information about each of these areas. If you are in a crisis situation where a decision must be made immediately or if meeting in person could be detrimental or confusing to your loved one, assessments can also be in other ways.
Once we have gathered all the information, we provide recommendations about which assisted living communities best fit your needs. We personally accompany you to tour the communities you select, and once you’ve made a decision we coordinate with their staff to arrange for medical evaluations and any other requirements for acceptance. If there are additional considerations, such as a need for specialized medical equipment, we coordinate with social workers and medical providers to make sure everything is in place before you arrive.
Throughout the entire process, our goal is to provide timely and comprehensive information, thoughtful support and consideration of all of your needs.
